Human rights oration 2017: talking to my country

This year's 2017 oration will be delivered by Stan Grant who is the Indigenous Affairs Editor for the ABC and special adviser to the Prime Minister on Indigenous constitutional recognition.

Grant will question whether Australia can fully enshrine the rights of Indigenous peoples, grapple with its history and give Indigenous peoples the opportunity to make decisions about their lives that will empower Indigenous people and communities.

The oration is part of Victoria's inaugural Human Rights Week. It will be followed by a light lunch.
