Grab a drink and listen to crime author and barrister Hilary Bonney leading a discussion about story telling in the court system as part of Melbourne's first Raising the Bar night.
Raising the Bar is a global education initiative founded in New York in 2014 and since held events in London, Hong Kong, Sydney and San Francisco. It's a series of free, one-off information events in bars around Melbourne's CBD. Speakers are experts in their field and from areas including science, healthcare, law, psychology, business and technology. They will share their knowledge and passion small audiences with a Q&A session held after the conclusion of each talk.
In her talk, Hilary Bonney discusses shaping messy, real-life stories into powerful and persuasive true crime. Bonney has years of experience working as a criminal barrister, and has written award-winning crime novels, including the acclaimed The Society Murders.
